The Agricultural Insurance Working Group (AIWG) chaired by Mr. Kheedhej Anansiriprapha of TGIA, under the ASEAN Natural Disaster Research and Works Sharing (ANDREWS) Committee chaired by Mr. Heddy Agus Pritasa of PT. Reasuransi Maipark Indonesia, organized the ASEAN Agricultural Insurance Workshop and Field Trip on 1 – 3 December 2022 in Bangkok and Roi Et Province.
On 1st of December 2022, participants of the workshop gathered at the new TGIA Headquarters in Sukhumvit Road, Phra Khanong. The event started with greetings from Mr. Kheedhej who guided the participants throughout the programme and welcome remarks from Mr. Anon Vangvasu, President of TGIA. It was followed by a message of appreciation from Mr. Heddy.
The focus of the workshop was for the representatives of the ASEAN member states to learn from the successful implementation of the Thailand Rice Insurance Top-Up Scheme, which is, a Public-Private Partnership initiative, with the cooperation of Thai General Insurance Association (TGIA) together with the Fiscal Policy Office of the Ministry of Finance; Department of Agriculture Extension (DOAE), Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives; Office of Insurance Commission (OIC); and Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives (BAAC).
Speakers also came from the Thaicom Public Company Limited, Aon Reinsurance Solutions, Swiss Reinsurance Company Limited, Munich Reinsurance Company.
