AsTEN launches international collaborative projects

December 1, 2023 – Association of Southeast Asian Teacher Education Network (AsTEN) held an orientation at a Zoom Meeting to discuss their International Collaborative Research Project, which aims to improve teacher education for the future. The program was hosted by Asst. Prof. Dr. Udomluk Koolsriroj, the Associate Dean for International Affairs of Kasetsart University (KU), and funded by their university. The program began with the opening remarks from AsTEN’s Chairperson and Dean of KU’s Faculty of Education, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pattamavadi Lehmongkol. Dr. Udomluk introduced the research projects one by one, starting with “Guidelines for Developing International Cooperation to Enhance Global Citizenship Education Following the Sustainable Development Goals Framework” led by Dr. Choosak Ueangchokchai and co-led by Prof. Ahmad Buknori Muslim from UPI, Mr. John Carlo M. Ramos from PNU, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Azlina Binti Abu Bakar from UPSI.

The second research focused on “Teacher Assessment Literacy: What do teachers conduct in classroom assessments?” led by Dr. Thananun Thanarachataphoom, Dr. Usanee Lalitpasan, and Dr. Sareeya Chotitham, co-researchers include Dr. Enjang Ali Nurdin from UPI, Dr. Le Hoang Dung from USSH, and Dr. Wan Nurul Izza Binti Wan Husin from UPSI. The third research, “Enhancing STEM Teacher Competence: A Case Study of AsTEN,” was led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chatree Faikhamta and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pattamaporn Pimthong, co-researchers include Dr. Rosario L. Belmi from PNU, Dr. Khin Khin Thant Sin from YUOE, Dr. Hoang Mai Khanh from USSH, and Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Balamuralithara A/L Balakrishnan from UPSI.

The fourth research, “Cyber Security Competency Enhancement In Digital Education: Factors Analysis, Learning Approaches, and Material Design,” was led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Watsatree Diteeyont and co-researched by Dr. Azizah Fauziyah from UPI and Dr. Shazlyn Milleana bini Shaharudin from UPSI. The final research, “Development of Physical and Brain Functional Capacity for Autistic Students through Fundamental Movement Based Learning and Rhythmic Dance in the Physical Education Classroom,” was led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Boonlerst Outayanik and co-led by Dr. Mustika Fitri from UPI and Dr. Raja Farhana Raja Khairuddin from UPSI.
